Reported Speech
Reported speech conveys someone’s words without quoting them directly. Pronouns, time expressions, and often verb tenses change to fit the reporting context: Ana said, “I am tired” becomes Ana said that she was tired. Tense changes depend on context and whether the statement remains current.
